Camocim

Welcome to Camocim!

Camocim is a beach town in western Ceará. Parts of its more glorious past as an agriculture export port can be felt if walking in the area near the former train station. This era came to a halt when the river changed its course, and ships could no longer pass its mouth. Today its a genuine Cearense fishing town.

Camocim is a municipality in the state of Ceará, Brazil, founded in 1879. The population is 63,907 people (2020 estimate) in an area of 1,120.45 km2 (432.61 sq mi).
