L'Ampolla, the gateway to the Ebro Delta

A fishing village between sea and river

With origins tracing back to the Iberians, L'Ampolla has seen many civilizations. Its name comes from the bottle-like shape of an ancient mouth of the Ebro River. After several attempts, it became an independent municipality in 1990, separating from El Perelló.
